Decades of Exceptional
Craftsmanship
Welcome to EarthWorth Jewels created by Beate Degen, where craftsmanship and creativity meet the timeless beauty of nature. With over 40 years of experience, I specialize in handcrafted sterling silver pieces, each inlaid with stones using a technique I learned during my travels in Latin America. As a German immigrant living in the Pacific Northwest, I draw inspiration from the natural world, the outdoors, and esoteric designs. Each piece reflects my passion for travel, nature, and personal artistry. Explore my unique collection and find something truly special, created with care and intention.
As a one-woman-owned business, I personally oversee every aspect of my work. This website serves as a gallery to showcase the unique style of my creations. To purchase a piece, please reach out to me directly or come visit me at one of the events where I showcase my work. I look forward to connecting with you and finding something truly special that makes you smile.
At EarthWorth Jewels, the essence of true craftsmanship shines through. Each piece is thoughtfully handcrafted by me, from the initial design sketch to the final polishing, all within my workshop. I personally oversee every step, from shaping the sterling silver to transforming raw gemstones into something truly special.
Every centerpiece is exclusively designed and created by me. I carefully hand-bend the sterling silver, solder wire elements onto the backing, and fill the intricate patterns with reconstituted gemstones and solid gemstone cabochons. The result is a harmonious blend of stones and silver, almost like a painting in metal and stone. The final touch is always a delicate combination of beading and wire work, bringing each piece to life.
For example:
Green is malachite, dark blue is lapis lazuli, white is mother of pearl, red is jasper, black is onyx, and light blue is turquoise—just a few of the vibrant materials I love to work with.
I treasure materials from the natural world, so along with precious and semi-precious stones, I also incorporate unique elements like porcupine quills, sea urchin spines, and bamboo into my jewelry.
